اس آیتِ مبارکہ میں واضح طور پر بیان کیا گیا ہے کہ رسول اکرم ﷺ اللہ کی آیات (قرآن) کی تلاوت کرتے ہیں،  سب جانتے ہیں کہ نبی ﷺ قرآن کے سوا کسی شئے کی تلاوت نہیں فرماتے تھے، پس قرآن وحی متلو ہے جسے وحی جلی بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔ نبی ﷺ پر قرآن کے معانی اور الفاظ دونوں منجانب اللہ نازل ہوتے تھے یہی سبب ہے کہ نبی ﷺ قرآنی وحی کو باقاعدہ اہتمام کے ساتھ صحائف کی شکل میں لکھوا کر محفوظ فرماتے تھے۔ اس کے برعکس جو وحی غیر متلو نبی اکرم ﷺ پر نازل ہوتی تھی ، اس کے صرف معانی نازل ہوتے تھے ، جنہیں نبی اکرم ﷺ اپنے الفاظ میں بیان فرمادیتے تھے۔ وحی غیر متلو کو وحی خفی بھی کہتے ہیں۔نبی ﷺ نے اس احتمال کے پیشِ نظر کہ کہیں قرآن میں ان کے اپنے الفاظ کو داخل نہ کردیا جائے ، ابتدا میں اپنے فرامین لکھنے سے ہی منع فرمادیا تھا۔
